Tarot Cards Revealed

Tarot cards have a long and rich history and surprisingly didn’t originate with the occult. They could have actually been pieces of a game. Which later evolved into a way psychics could receive information.

Although psychics often get depicted as negative, old, crazy, scam artists they were often thought of wise women of the village who knew herbs, flowers, and divination. Often psychics and tarot are depicted as mysterious, mythical and magical. A fabrication created by Jean-Baptiste Alliette in the 1780’s and further pushed the concept when he published a book with Antoine Court deGebelin. This book detailed the study of the symbolism of tarot cards and their connection to the occult.

Unless you have personally used tarot cards you may not have noticed the similarities to regular playing cards. There are queens and kings, joker vs the fool, 4 suits like spades or diamonds vs wands or pentacles. There are 56 minor arcana cards vs 52 cards. Which for me points to another vote for its original creation as part of a game. Some older psychics can read playing cards too! Tarotpalor.com brought up that, “Each minor suit is made of 10 cards (Ace to 10) plus the Royals. So 14 cards per suit.”

Fear is greatly associated with tarot cards, but there aren’t any actual negative tarot cards!! It’s all in how you read the cards, their intended meanings are not negative. The death card, the devil, or the tower are often perceived negatively. They are not bad cards they talk about fears, rebirth, and moving on from toxic relationships.

While researching I found out the first deck of tarot did not have numbered cards!! Come to find out tarot dates back to Northern Italy in the 1400s. They originally only had pictures and the psychics memorized the image. Numbers weren’t added until the 6th century by Pythagoras as far as we know was the first to give specific attributes to each number. He said that all even-numbered cards were female and odd numbers were male.

There are many ways to pick up the energy and read an individual, but tarot is the most popular. Tarot cards do not possess any magic, but the reader is able to tap into energy and vibrations to translate it into a way that makes sense to the person being read.

Not all Tarot card readers are Gypsy’s. Nor are all psychics mediums. They are not all fakes, scam artists, look you up on social media, use a crystal ball, wear scarves or headwraps. You would be shocked at some of the things people have said to me about my perceived image as a psychic. Most of us are just normal everyday folk who happen to read tarot or doesn’t make us weird, recluses who shake sticks or curse at you for not listening to our dire warnings. I hope this opened you up a little more to tarot cards and realizing they are not inherently evil or bad.
