There are so many useful essential oils that may help smooth the appearance of fine lines for a more youthful look. This is yet another reason why I got into essential oils. I kept hearing about all the chemicals in facial products that were more harmful, than helpful.

I started researching what my favorite products had in them and why those specific chemicals were considered bad. I am by no means what one may consider earthy crunchy or a chemical free home. But I have eliminated several harmful chemicals from my home. Here are two apps that can help you in this endeavor; skin deep app or ewp.org, and dirty dozen app.

Let’s talk about essential oils that can improve the overall appearance of your skin and supports healthy looking skin. Here are my top 5!

  1. My number one oil right now is Bergamot. Bergamot is helpful with almost any skin issue you can have. I’ve used it for occasional pimples, whiteheads, in grown hairs, oily, cold sores, and for more radiant skin. It is also known form it’s cleansing and healing abilities.
  2. Frankincense is another amazing oil for skin care, due to its multitude of uses. Again it is helpful in aiding healing, pimples, cold sores, oily, and more radiant skin. It is also useful when dealing with smoothing issues, elasticity, dark spots, peeling, and possible regeneration. FUN FACT #1: Frankincense is very high in sesquiterpenes. Essential oils containing sesquiterpenes have the ability to cross the blood-brain barrier (where synthetics cannot go), enabling it to be effective to support the entire body. FUN FACT #2 Frankincense from Oman is considered the rarest, most sought-after aromatic in existence. Young Living has a partner farm and distillery there so guess what that means? Young Living members are the only westerners to enjoy this luxury! Lucky you!
  3. Geranium not only smells good it aids in pimples, scars, disinfects, cold sores, smooth, reduces bruises, helps with both dry and oily skin, healing and hydration, great for people with sensitive skin, more radiant skin, and possible regeneration of skin.
  4. Lavender is considered the “Swiss army knife” of oils. I cannot even list all the fantastic uses for this oil. Here are just some of its marvelous benefits: supports healthy hair, swelling, rashes, smoothing, bites, regeneration, stretch marks, healing, burns, cuts, scrapes, bruising, and scars. It can also help with cold sores, pimples, boils, soothing irritation, aiding oily, dry, or peeling skin, even the most sensitive skin types can use it. FUN FACT: A study conducted at the University of Vienna revealed that when Lavender was diffused for 15 minutes to caffeine dosed mice, stress level decreased by almost 100%!
  5. Melrose is known for its healing properties consider using it on occasional acne, bites, stings, cold sores, swollen areas, scars, cuts, bruises, and rashes.
