Why I love Black Pepper EO

black pepperDue to a chronic autoimmune issue, my hands are like ice cubes all winter! This month Young Living had an unprecedented Essential Reward special. One of those specials was Black Pepper EO (essential oil.) I wasn’t sure exactly how I would use this one. Well, low and behold someone in my oil group posted how black pepper can help keep your hands warm! I added a few drops of black pepper to a teaspoon of unrefined coconut oil. And rubbed my hands together. It is not instant warming, but certainly works rather quickly. I think this is going to be a much warmer winter for my hands! If you decide you like the mix, you can make a larger batch. I would say 2 ounces of coconut oil to 10-15 drops of black pepper eo.

After some research I found that black pepper is rich in antioxidants and can aid monthly cramps, muscle cramps, stimulates the digestive system, helps reduce the appearance of aging, can aid in prohibiting gas, a diuretic, aids in a healthy immune system, and helps to cleanse the intestines. Emotionally it can help with seeing things with clarity and honesty. Diffused it can soothe occasional anxious feelings or increase energy. But for me the best part is it is warming, stimulating, supports normal joint health, and promotes circulation.  Please do not ingest in high quantities as it could cause uneasiness, unrest, vomiting, irritation to the intestines. And keep it away from children, and if you are pregnant or nursing consult your doctor.

Black pepper blends well with Frankincense, Lemon, Fennel, Lime, Grapefruit, Lavender, Coriander, Sage, Geranium, Sandalwood, Ginger, Clove, Ylang-ylang, Clary Sage, Peppermint, Wintergreen, Cinnamon, Bergamot and Juniper.
