I taught an Essential Oil 101 class this past Sunday. One of the things we made during class was the Discomfort Cream. This is a great recipe for any pain you have.
You will need:
Two 4 oz. glass jar
1 C. Organic Unrefined Coconut Oil
10 drops of each Valor, Panaway, and Peppermint.
Optional: Lemongrass or Copaiba
If you are using one eessential oil (eo) add 10 drops. If using both eo’s put 5 drops of each.
I have found that slowly melting the coconut oil helps smooth it out for better mixing and usage later on. You will need a large pan of water at a low rolling boil. Use an open glass jar to fill with the coconut oil, and place in the middle of the pan of water.

Slowly, melt down the coconut oil, stirring often.
When the oil has completely melted take it out with an oven mit.
Let it cool for 5 minutes away from the heat. Do not let it completely set.
Once cooled place it in a separate clean bowl to be whipped. Whipping can take awhile, be patient.
You want a smooth and silky texture that has a shine to it.
Here is the end result.
Now is the time to add your essential oils. Add no more than 40 drops of essential oils to 4 ounces of coconut oil.
Coconut oil is a great base oil for many oily mixtures. I use it mixed with Lavender for bumps, bruises, cuts, chapped or dry skin, and for itching. I’ve also made homemade vapor rub, respiratory relief cream, hand scrub, fever reducer, and cough cream all with coconut as the base carrier oil.
